"This Beneath the Surface," an eight-part thriller, stars actors from both Germany and Denmark working together on its production. Set against the backdrop of an isolated island, it follows intertwined narratives exploring the impact of a tragic accident that alters the fates of two families owing to concealed truths and falsehoods. Living peacefully side-by-side, these families—one German and one Danish—are raising their children as if they were siblings on a utopian island. However, a boat-related misadventure results in a young boy disappearing beneath the waves, reopening old wounds and eroding trust among them. What sets this series apart is its approach: every episode delves back in time and forward past the event, seen through various characters' eyes, immersing audiences deeply until the truth becomes clear. In it, Milena Tscharntke plays Cecil, the daughter of Charlie Christensen and Jacob Lindhardt, and the sibling of Emiel Oscar Seltmann. She shares her world closely with Schell Lucas Zumbrunnen, whose parents are Bernd Livits and Sabine Schartel, alongside his younger brother Karl Anton Pintscher. When Cecil's family joins Schell aboard a yacht for yet another outing at sea, their absence abruptly casts doubt over their serene lifestyle on the island.。
